Happy Place

Week 5

In our exercise this week we are going to take our 15-20 minutes of quiet time and being still and in our minds and go your “Happy Place”. Choose a place that you have fond memories of, or a place you wish to visit. It could be a beach and water, a field of flowers, or a forest stream. If you don’t have a happy please, create one.

When you are able to visualize your happy place, it can calm you down and help you to restore balance – you can be alone or visualize someone you admire with you. You may even seek advice for something that is troubling you.

Now, go to your room, take the same seat, the same position as heretofore, and mentally select a place which has pleasant associations. Make a complete mental picture of it, see the buildings, the grounds, the trees, friends, associations, everything complete. At first, you will find yourself thinking of everything under the sun, except the ideal upon which you desire to concentrate. But do not let that discourage you. Persistence will win, but persistence requires that you practice these exercises every day without fail.
