Letting Go

Week 4

Sometimes we have situations in our lives that bother us and we feel mentally drained. It’s time to release all the pain, hurts, grief, frustration and/or anger associated with it.

This week when we meditate, we are asked to let go mentally. Rest our minds. It may be difficult at first, but be persistent. In your minds eye, imagine all your past hurts floating away. Release all the negative feelings, all the grief, anger and pain and just let it go.

Master Key System: chapter 4

29. Last week I asked you to relax, to let go physically. This week, I am going to ask you to let go mentally. If you practiced the exercise given you last week fifteen or twenty minutes a day in accordance with the instructions, you can no doubt relax physically; and anyone who cannot consciously do this quickly and completely is not a master of himself. He has not obtained freedom; he is still a slave to conditions. But I shall assume that you have mastered the exercise and are ready to take the next step, which is mental freedom.

30. This week, after taking your usual position, remove all tension by completely relaxing, then mentally let go of all adverse conditions, such as hatred, anger, worry, jealousy, envy, sorrow, trouble or disappointment of any kind.

31. You may say that you cannot “let go” of these things, but you can; you can do so by mentally determining to do so, by voluntary intention and persistence.

32. The reason that some cannot do this is because they allow themselves to be controlled by the emotions instead of by their intellect. But those who will be guided by the intellect will gain the victory. You will not succeed the first time you try, but practice makes perfect, in this as in everything else, and you must succeed in dismissing, eliminating and completely destroying these negative and destructive thoughts; because they are the seed which is constantly germinating into discordant conditions of every conceivable kind and description.”

Relax

Week 3

This week during our daily meditation we are asked to relax. Most of us feel the stress of daily life and forget to take the time to relax. Learning to rest and relax refreshes our mind and our body and helps us make better decisions. Try this for 15-20 minutes today. 

~ For your exercise this week, I will ask you to go one step further. I want you to not only be perfectly still, and inhibit all thought as far as possible, but relax, let go, let the muscles take their normal condition; this will remove all pressure from the nerves, and eliminate that tension which so frequently produces physical exhaustion.~

Sitting still

Read chapter one

During this journey, you are asked to perform a daily meditation for 15-30 minutes. If you are having difficulty finding the time in your day to perform the daily exercises, you are encouraged to try them the first and last 15 minutes of your day; before getting out of bed each morning and before going to sleep each night. Doing them multiple times a day will enhance the experience.

It's not as easy as it sounds.

This week:
Try to be perfectly still for 15-20 minutes or more.

Select a room where you can be alone and undisturbed … let your thoughts roam where they will but be perfectly still for from fifteen minutes to half an hour; continue this for three or four days or for a week until you secure full control of your physical being.

Master Key System


On Monday July 31, we will begin with “Lesson One”. Each weekend, you will be asked to read one chapter of “The Master Key System” by Charles Haanel. This was one of the first books to mention "law of attraction". Originally published in 1916, MKS (master Key System) was a weekly correspondence course designed to help achieve success and happiness.

Each Monday there will be a post with the meditation exercise. The meditation exercises work very well when done each morning before you rise and each evening before you go to sleep. If you have time in your day, you might want to try it again as suggested in the book.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week there will be posts reviewing the chapter and sharing thoughts. You are encouraged to comment, ask questions and be involved.

This will be a 10 week Journey that will give you a glimpse of the law of attraction and how you can use it in your life.

Begin by reviewing chapter one.

Favorite Flower

Week 9 : Exercise


This week you will visualize your favorite flower. Bring it to view. Plant a seed, water and care for it. Place it in the sun and watch as the seed comes alive. See the roots penetrate the dirt. See the stem shoot upward and watch it burst through the surface. See it divide and form branches. Watch as the leaves and buds begin to form. Then watch as your favorite flower comes into view.  Keep at it until you can see the flower clearly in your minds eye. 

Concentrate on it until you become conscious of the fragrance. Watch as a breeze gently sways this beautiful creation that you have visualized.
